This is the replay of From Scattered to Structured: The Golden Threads of Your Work.
In this session, business coach (and yoga teacher of 30 years) Katie Rose walks you through why your work may feel difficult to explain or build from, and what changes when it is brought into a clear structure.
You will begin to see how the different threads of what you do can be gathered and organised into a pathway or framework that is easier to communicate, develop, and monetise.

NOTES FOR THIS SESSION:
Structuring Your Work into a Framework
➡ For this 1 hour online workshop we will use one method (acronym) for one area of your business.
➡ In the full training (Gathering the Golden Threads) I cover other ways of creating a framework (for example a written manifesto, a mind-map, visual note-taking, and the progressive pathway method).
➡ I also go into lots more detail about how to gather the threads and where this type of framework is useful in your offerings (for example you can have a framwork for one element of what you do or one for the whole 'umbrella' of what you do).
➡ Once you start thinking like this it's quite addictive and you'll love the clarity it brings both to the quality of your work and your ability to market it.
Case Study (from Katie Rose's Ayurveda Goddess program): The NOURISH Method
This exercise demonstrates how an existing body of knowledge can be shaped into a clear, structured framework.
The example below is drawn from my own work in Ayurveda. For many years I taught ayurveda according to a seven step process. I never really named it or gave it a framework it was just the steps in my teaching ... until I got clearer ...
Step 1: Begin with What Already Exists
I did not begin with an acronym or a framework.
I began with something I had been teaching for many years: a simple, ordered pathway for approaching healing.
When working with a health concern, I would guide students through the following sequence:
- Nature (rhythm, cycles, environment, stage of life)
- Lifestyle (sleep, stress, relationships, emotional patterns)
- Food (quality, quantity, timing, awareness)
- Therapies (body-based practices such as abhyanga, basti, yoni steaming)
- Herbs
- Pharmaceuticals
- Surgery
This sequence was already established in my teaching. I had used it repeatedly in conversation, classes, and trainings.
However, it existed as a list, not yet as a defined framework.
Important:
At this stage, all intellectual property and creative thinking is your own.
You are not generating something new. You are identifying what is already present. You are not creating a new way of working. You are brainstorming what is already there.
Step 2: Refine the Language
The next step was to bring consistency and clarity to the wording.
Each stage needed to:
- sit at the same level of language
- feel coherent when spoken aloud
- reflect the tone of my work
For example:
- “Lifestyle” became Organisation of Lifestyle
- “Therapies” became Restorative Therapies
- “Herbs” became something broader and more precise
This stage requires discernment. It cannot be outsourced. You are listening for what feels accurate and aligned.
Step 3: Use AI as a Support Tool (Not a Source of Authority)
At this point, I brought the refined list into ChatGPT.
I did not ask it to create the teaching.
I asked it to assist with structure and articulation.
Specifically, it helped with:
- generating possible acronyms
- offering alternative word choices
- refining phrasing for clarity and consistency
For example, I was not satisfied with the term for “herbs.”
Through iteration, we arrived at:
Integrative Medicines
This term worked because it:
- includes herbal and natural preparations
- reflects a broader, more sophisticated understanding
- sits well alongside “Synthetic Medicine” and “Hospital Care”
Important distinction:
- The content (the pathway itself) is mine
- The refinement and structuring were supported (not created!) by AI
This is the appropriate use of the tool and maintains your integrity as a teacher and facilitator.
Step 4: Identify a Unifying Structure
From the refined language, we explored whether the framework could be made more memorable.
An acronym emerged:
NOURISH
- Nature
- Organisation of Lifestyle
- Understanding of Food
- Restorative Therapies
- Integrative Medicines
- Synthetic Medicine
- Hospital Care
This worked because:
- it preserved the original order
- it reflected the essence of the work
- it was easy to remember and teach
AI was particularly useful at this stage in generating and testing options quickly.
Step 5: Name the Framework
The final step was to name the work:
The NOURISH Method
At this point, the pathway became:
- a defined teaching tool
- a repeatable concept
- a piece of intellectual property
What to Notice
This process did not begin with creativity.
It began with recognition.
You are not trying to invent something impressive. Remember here we used an acronym as a foundation but there are other methods you can use (I teach these in the full program).
You are:
- identifying patterns in your existing work
- refining the language
- giving it a clear and usable form
AI can assist with:
- language refinement
- structural suggestions
- pattern recognition
But it does not replace:
- your experience
- your teaching
- your discernment
Your Turn
Work through the following steps:
1. Identify a Repeated Teaching
What do you explain often?
This might be:
- a process
- a sequence
- a way of working with clients
Write it out simply.
2. Clarify the Order
Is there a natural sequence?
If so, define it clearly.
Do not rearrange it for aesthetics.
3. Refine the Language
For each step, ask:
- Is this precise?
- Is it consistent with the others?
- Does it reflect my voice?
Rewrite as needed.
4. Explore Structure
Optional:
- Can this become an acronym?
- Is there a phrase or name that captures it?
You may use AI here to generate options, but you decide what fits.
5. Refine Again
Test the framework:
- Say it out loud
- Teach it briefly
- Notice where it feels unclear or clumsy and adjust accordingly.
6. Name It
Give your framework a clear name.
This is what allows it to become:
- teachable
- memorable
- transferable
Final Reflection
Where in your work are there ideas that are already formed, but not yet structured?
So much would change if they were given a clear and consistent form! Have a playful, curious approach and you'll be amazed with the magic that is sparked.
