Bhakti Business

Why I do this work and what it means to me, from founder Katie Rose:

Bhakti means 'loving devotion' or 'wise love' and business is all about offering your goods and services to the world in exchange for payment. Here at Bhakti Business we're all about embodied wisdom as well as making a profit.

Stepping into the world of teaching about business has been part of a natural evolution and flow for me. It has grown organically, mainly because I’ve uncovered more and more that I absolutely love it.

As a pitta type in ayurveda (fire, fire, fire) I love a new project and I love supporting others to form their vision into being. I work best in group programs with some one-to-one support and I created my signature program for Bhakti Business with this exact model in mind. The results have already been so juicy to watch and this is just the beginning.

It means a lot to me to be able to support women in financial independence, realising their dreams and growing in skill and confidence. I’ve had wonderful mentors myself and it is a privilege to be able to support others as they step up the ladder too. Together we rise!

Bhakti Business Values and Mission

There are many business trainings out there and plenty of coaches too. What sets my offerings apart is that I've run many successful businesses in my time. I teach from lived experience not theory. Here is a taste of my business experience:

  • 1998 - 2000 Manager, Culpeper, Covent Garden - managed the flagship London store of this beautiful aromatherapy brand. Learned about the world of sales and retail.
  • 2000 - 2002 Manager, South London Natural Health Centre
  • 2002 - 2004 Started as a volunteer and became the manager of TriYoga's flagship Primrose Hill branch. Worked with many world famous yoga teachers (and celebrity clients) to build this incredible brand.
  • 2004 - 2008 founder and owner Samadhi Yoga, Newtown. The first business I set up myself, the year I moved to Australia. Samadhi was a highlight of my life (so far!) and my career. Such a special place and time.
  • 2008 - 2014 founder and owner Jivamukti Yoga, Sydney. At its peak four branches across Sydney and a thriving community of 20+ staff and hundreds of students.
  • 2019 Started Bhakti Rose and continue to build it to the present day. Bhakti Rose is now a thriving online business that comfortably supports my family and I. The main offerings are ayurveda training and pregnancy yoga training.
  • 2020 co-founder and owner Bhakti Blends (tea company which my business partner and I built to profit and sold).
  • During this time I've also written five published books, the next one of which will be published by Affirm Press in early 2024.
  • It's not all rainbows and unicorns! Read about my fails here.

These three elements are the foundation of my work at Bhakti Business:

SIMPLIFY - running a successful business doesn't need to be complicated, just one good idea and some clear systems and processes can lead to a thriving enterprise. Many people who are new to business over-think and get overwhelmed. I am all about clean systems and crystal clear communication.

SERVE - the backbone of any successful business is that it solves a problem and provides a good service. Businesses thrive when they come from a paradigm of 'what can I give?'. Part of this service piece is being an ethical business with integrity at the foundation of all that we do.

SCALE - businesses need to make a profit. I will support you to grow your business, grow your income and expand your reach.
