Over the past few weeks, we’ve had so many thoughtful, honest questions coming into our inboxes and DMs about income, pricing, focus, direction, and sustainability.
We realised two things:
1) We’re already spending a lot of time responding privately
2) The answers we’re giving are would be helpful for many of you.
In our DMs and emails we are having some great conversations and most of the questions are not unique. They reflect patterns many yoga teachers are navigating right now.
We’ve decided to open up a Q + A series and make our thinking public, so everyone can benefit.
If you’re a yoga teacher or spiritual entrepreneur with a question about your business (or jsut an area in which you’re genuinely stuck on or unsure about) this is an invitation to ask us.
The Pathway to Profit Q&A is a short, free Q&A series where you can submit one focused business question, and hear how we would think about it.
We’ll be responding to a curated selection of questions via short audio drops and written reflections, shared with the group so everyone can learn from the patterns, insights, and decision points that come up.
What this is (and what it’s not)
This is:
- A free, contained Q + A series
- Focused on real business questions from yoga teachers
- Designed to help you get unstuck around a specific decision or area in which you feel stuck
We’ll be selecting questions that allow us to offer the most value to the group as a whole. Please note we may not have time to answer every question submitted. If we get two or three questions in the same area we’ll do a generalised ‘on-topic’ answer.

- Starting Small and Earning Your First Income
For those new to running a business, we provide a clear roadmap to help you take your first steps towards earning an income, however modest. Every single business had it’s first customer once. If you are already teaching, we will offer strategies to incrementally increase your income by 20–30% as a start. These sustainable changes form the foundation of a stable, long-term business. - Discovering Your Unique Niche
Understanding and articulating your what is different and special about you is vital. We will help you identify your niche, enabling you to connect (in a way that doesn’t feel awkward) with the right students and community. - Building Confidence Through Financial Progress
Why focus on cashflow? Because even small financial wins can significantly boost your confidence. Once you’ve achieved a small milestone, it becomes easier to expand your reach and impact. $50 income can become $500 once you’ve got yourself set up for success.

What kind of question should you ask?
The best questions are:
- Specific and detailed
- a real decision you’re facing now
- focused on one area of uncertainty or challenge
Examples:
- “I’m teaching a lot but my income hasn’t shifted, where is the sticking pint likely to be?”
“I have several offers and don’t know which one to prioritise this year.” - “I want to earn more without adding more classes, what pathways would you look at first?”
- “Should I focus on in-person work or start building something online?”
- “My pricing feels too low but I’m unsure how to change it.”
You don’t need the perfect wording just an honest question.

Katie Rose
Katie Rose is a yoga teacher, ayurveda guide, doula and author with over 25 years of experience in the world of wellness. She holds accreditation with both Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia as a registered experienced yoga teacher and teacher trainer with many thousands of teaching hours under her belt.
Katie was the manager of the prestigious TriYoga centre in London before moving to Sydney and opening Samadhi Yoga in 2004 followed by Jivamukti Yoga Sydney which at its peak was a four-studio business and is still a thriving community today.
Her popular online courses have helped hundreds of women from all over the world in empower themselves.
She is the founder and host of the annual Bhakti Women Online Yoga Summit and the author of several internationally available books including ‘Mindful Living’ (Rockpool Publishing) and ‘The Yoga of Birth’. Most recently she authored 'Trust Life, Trust Yourself, Find Peace' (published by Affirm Press).
Katie helps women go from feeling stuck and overwhelmed to living a life that is vibrant, creative and abundant. She lives in Sydney, Australia with her five children in a loud and busy household where her meditation practice keeps her sane!
